Text Text dance is a dance party where people are dancing according to instructions they receive on there cell phones. With the use of SMS/Texting capabilities I send text messages to groups of people on the dance floor over a period of time. The people I text perform the instruction sent to their phone the moment they receive it. Not all the participants have the same instructions. Some interact with one another and some dance individually. This happens in a public venue so those participating are scattered among non participants. Participants sign up ahead of time and may prepare by watching instructional videos demonstrating each dance move.
This a dance party where the moves of the dancers are predetermined by me. The reaction of the other people dancing is equally as important to the event. In some cases, non-participants who do not know anything about what is going on mimic the moves of the participants.
