Upcoming event: Color Wheelz @ Touch-a-Truck!
Brooklyn, New York – Saturday, April 28, 2012
Color Wheelz is sponsored, in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by Brooklyn Arts Council, Inc. (BAC). It is an art making and visual narrative experience to promote public engagement on the streets of NYC.
On April 28 2012 it will participate in an event called “Touch-A-Truck” in Park Slope, Brooklyn. This event is organized by P.S.295 and is “a chance for Brooklyn kids to encounter working trucks and vehicles they see in everyday life up close and personal. Visitors can climb inside, touch and explore the trucks they see everyday! (plus other cool vehicles). It is a fundraiser to benefit the PTA at P.S. 295, (the PTA is a non-profit 501 3(c))” http://www.ps295.org/English/events/touchatruck.html
When: Saturday, April 28, 12pm - 5pm, rain or shine
Where: PS 295, 18th Street between 6th and 7th Aves in Park Slope, Brooklyn
Subway: R to Prospect Ave; F to 15th St/Prospect Park
Tickets: $5 per person, children under 6 months are free

Color Wheelz spent three weeks in Greensboro, North Carolina at the Super G Residency program in June 2011. We did several colorful projects that involve the community, UNCG art students and local geography. All of the projects are interactive and open to the public. Some examples are listed here.

On April 27m 28 and 29 in NYC. The kids from Publicolor in NYC redesigned color wheelz in a three day workshop. The kids created colorful art to apply to the outside of Color wheelz! Images will be posted below.
